Paws and Claws is committed to the care and welfare of our animals throughout their lives. We hold a high regard for the concept of a “furever” home and as such we will always endeavour to match an animal with the family we think will suit them best.
For our puppies especially who get numerous applications, usually a panel is employed consisting of the foster carers and senior volunteers/board members who have the animal’s best interest at the centre of their decision making.
We do not do “wait lists” as each individual animal has different needs and lifestyles that are unique to them and their history.
This may mean that some families, while ideal adopters, may not be the best fit found for a particular animal.
Please understand that our role in this is for the best possible outcome for animal and family.
Abuse and aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated. Please remember that we are all volunteers doing the best we can with the resources we have.
If you are unsuccessful with a particular animal, we encourage you to apply for another animal that may suit when it comes along in the future.
We have many adopters who have tried numerous times before being successful and finding an animal that they suit the best.
Thank you for your understanding and thank you for adopting!
